About Me

I am a contemporary artist living in the Corning, NY area. I received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from Salisbury University where my fields of focus included Painting, Hot Glass, and New Media.

I have a fascination with our ability as humans to give life to ideas, forms, and objects, and how we choose to decorate ourselves and our environment with art. I aim to embrace beauty for beauty's sake while also looking to find said beauty in our human experiences and emotions. I enjoy bringing together my knowledge of different art forms, allowing my work to flourish as it accepts the blending of mixed media

As for the last class that I had the privilege to take with my Regional Young Artist Scholarship from the Corning Musuem of Glass Studio… a weeklong intensive with instructor @clare_belfrage and TA @nikodimitrijevic ☺️

For a while now I’ve been in a creative rut, struggling to form meaningful ideas and intention with my artistic practices. Many long days with Clare, Niko, and my classmates has provided me with confidence, insight, and inspiration. I feel so incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet these incredible people and artists and to find a new way to love glass. Thank you so much to everyone involved in the class, the tech team, and all of the studio staff. 🫶🏻

It’s been a minute…

In 2024, I was named one of two recipients of the Regional Young Artist scholarship from The Studio of The Corning Museum of Glass. For the past three years that I’ve spent at The Studio, I have been able to hone my technical skills, becoming more comfortable with glassmaking. Now, with the support of my peers and mentors, I have been able to take those skills and apply them, investing time and energy into exploring my own creative expression. Towards that end, I’ve been taking as many classes as I can here, hoping to discover my voice and style as I go.

Most recently, I had the honor of taking a week long intensive class with Alan Horsley ( @alan.horsley ) at the Corning Museum of Glass Studio ( @corningmuseumstudio ). The class, titled Glass Translations, was primarily focused on the science and techniques of plaster-silica mold-making and how to make the proper mold to support the ideas and objects that we may wish to cast in glass. Please enjoy these quick snapshots into last week.

Some may wonder, “what do glassblowers do when they’re not blowing glass?” And this is the answer.

For those unaware, “Stump” is a game where every participant hammers a nail into a stump. On their turn, the player flips the hammer and, in one continuous motion, attempts to strike down another nail. Last nail standing wins.

This is the second season of the Crystal City stump league, and we’ve outdone ourselves this past Tuesday, bringing grace and formality to a game usually full of unforgiving swings of the hammer. We also voted and crowned a king (@vbambino1) and queen (@digital_duality) of stump.

As the season continues, we’ll see more of our shenanigans. See you all next Tuesday.

So grateful for the @corningmuseumstudio. As a 2024 recipient of the Regional Young Artist Scholarship, I’ve been able to take some incredible classes and learn a multitude of new skills.

This past week I took a flameworking class in the newly dedicated Schwartz Family Flameshop with Suellen Fowler and Hugh Salkind. These two instructors and working artists were absolutely phenomenal. I learned far more things in one week than I thought might be possible. What an incredible week with incredible people.

Every glassblower has to make their first fish at some point, right? 🫡😂

I got to take a wonderful class with @bronaghglass and @freddymelts this past weekend at the @corningmuseumstudio. It was so fun to challenge myself to work as small as I could on the torch. I was able to create teeny tiny flowers and encapsulate them! 🌸 this was also my first time working with hollow tubing, and I’m pretty excited about all of the new possibilities ahead of me.

Thanks for the super fun class and all of the new friends I’ve made! 💕

This year I was one of two artists to receive the Regional Young Artist Scholarship from the Corning Museum of Glass Studio. This has been an incredible opportunity for me to pursue my glassmaking career and delve deeper into techniques that I will use to develop my own body of work. Additionally, it’s been a huge help in keeping my momentum through a year full of personal hardships and mental battles.

This weekend I got to try my hand at glass sculpting with the guidance of @clairekellyglass and @ultralit.sb who were incredibly thorough, patient, and wonderful to work with. I also got to pull my first glass ponies (maybe looking more like dinosaurs?) which made me smile more than I have in months.

I am forever grateful to this medium and the community it brings forth, thanks to everyone in class who kept the hotshop full of laughter and kindness. You guys rock. And special thanks to @ktlandin and @jcamarang for being great partners to work with!

Just a few of many glassy highlights from 2023 🎉

Corning has really become my home this year and I’m so grateful to be a part of the glass community surrounding it.

This past year I had the amazing opportunity to take and TA classes at @corningmuseumstudio and I feel like I’ve learned so much in such a short amount of time. I’m grateful to all of the artists that taught me new things and allowed me to turn to them for guidance!

I’m also so thankful to have such wonderful friends in my life that support me, and to have been able to make a few more this year. I can’t wait to keep making memories with you all in 2024 💞

Got to take a Flameworking class with Aaron Verity this past weekend! Super excited to have learned some new techniques and to have more practice on the torch.

It’s becoming pumpkin season! I love Autumn. I’m hoping to get more of these glass blown pumpkins made and maybe sold. My website is a work in progress so hopefully I can get these babies and some other work listed there shortly.

Making glass is faster, easier, and way more fun with help from an amazing stem maker, @ktlandin 🎃🫡 thanks for helping me with the production process :)

Making of a cup for a cup exchange! This cup has little doodles to commemorate little narratives from our summer together. To celebrate the nearing end of the season, we gathered to do a white elephant cup exchange & barbecue! It was a wonderful summer of fresh grapes and new friends.

I’m excited to see how this @gafferglassusa Chameleon (G-138) vase turns out. It’s one of the first colors I ever bought when I started blowing glass and I recently bought more from @olympiccolors to play with. Just look at the color changing magic at the end 🪄

It’s been hard to motivate myself to paint recently, so here’s to trying to convince myself to do more portrait studies. I usually end up doom scrolling trying to find the “perfect” reference or inspiration, but that doesn’t really work so I’m trying to relax a little xx
